Guide to the DNA Double Helix Molecule

DNA Structure - US National Library of MedicineDNA, or deoxyribonucleic acid, is a complex molecule unrivalled for beauty—one of the most important molecules of life. It has a number of component parts and, with very little difference from molecule to molecule, it carries the genetics for every living thing upon earth. This amazing, twisting double helix, much like a staircase, has internal steps made of pairs limited to four chemical bases. Unlike most other molecules, in order to function, DNA disassembles and reassembles itself, serving as a template to reproduce itself and create other important substances. Learn much more about deoxyribonucleic acid, including the chemical natures of the helices and the steps and how the molecule determines genetic destiny, by reading informative articles here at Bright Hub.
