The first computers using digital signals and electronic circuitry instead of mechanical elements appeared in the 1940s in the context of World War II. Famous early computers include Zuse and Colossus, but computer history is full of other machines which were also great achievements. The early computers were huge in size, and some needed water cooling. Along with miniaturization of computers software evolved, and the CPU power has been increasingly getting more powerful.
From the early computers to these days’ hardware and software is a quantum leap - the computer nowadays is the most complex systems ever built on earth. Read on to find all about the history of computers and great achievements here in this guide.
