The Windows Blue Screen (of Death)

Blue screen of deathBlue screens refer to an error screen presented by Windows when a critical error has occurred. Blue screens, or the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD), are so called because of the background color of the screen that is used to present the details of the error. There is very little an end user can do once a blue screen has been displayed other than restart the PC. Blue screens are most often related to hardware issues like buggy drivers or faulty hardware, although some viruses are known to fake the look of a blue screen.
