Air Pollution: Types, Causes, Effects and Controls

Urban Air Pollution Air pollution has been around for as long as mankind has congregated in cities and burned some type of fuel for heat. The industrial revolution made the problem even more prominent with many types of air pollution in large industrialized cities. Yet, only piecemeal efforts were made to control air pollution in the United States until the passage of the Clean Air Act in 1970. This legistlation brought forth a much more organized effort aimed toward learning more about air pollution causes and putting air pollution controls into place.
