In the video game industry, the term "AAA" refers to a game with exemplary quality - the best of the best.
Although there is no agreed upon standard for declaring a title AAA - leading many game companies to spin their titles as "AAA" in pre-production - a triple-A title game often has one of several characteristics. These traits include a large budget, high quality, mass-market appeal, impressive post-release sales, and sometimes innovation. The term is comparable to "blockbuster" in the film industry. Examples include "Company of Heroes," "World of Warcraft," "Call of Duty," and "Assassin's Creed."
"AAA" may also refer to several non-video game acronyms, including the American Automobile Association, AAA Minor League Baseball, anti-aircraft warfare, the AAA protocol, and the AAA battery size.
