This product makes many claims, but how effective is it? More importantly, is it as green as it seems?
Years ago, people never thought about eco-friendly cleaning products. Today, on the other hand, you can find several products that revolve around the green movement. One such product is Palmolive Pure + Clear dish washing liquid. The product makes many claims, but how effective is the product? Does Palmolive Pure + Clear get dishes as clean as the original formula?
Is it Eco-Friendly?
First let’s look at what makes Palmolive Pure + Clear an eco-friendly product. This product claims to have no unnecessary chemicals, heavy fragrances, or irritating dyes. That’s not all though. This new Palmolive line of dish detergents also claims to be phosphate-free and hypoallergenic. Green consumers will also enjoy the fact that this detergent contains biodegradable ingredients packaged in a bottle made with recycled plastic. Enough about the commercial details, let’s find out how Palmolive Pure + Clear stands up to dirty dishes.
Does it Clean?
Surprisingly, Palmolive Pure + Clear cleans just as well as the original version. In fact, there’s no difference at all. Grease cleans away easily and there are enough suds to wash a sink full of dishes. The fragrance is also quite pleasant, though I don’t know if I would call it light by any means. It all seems too good to be true. Is this Palmolive detergent as green as it seems?
Should You Buy It?
Without a doubt this product is greener than most detergents. That doesn’t mean it’s perfect though. If you read the description closely, you will notice that the product claims to be made with no “unnecessary” chemicals. In other words, Palmolive Pure + Clear still contains chemicals. Should you mark this product off your shopping list? No. Pure + Clear is still a better choice than many of the other detergents that are available.
Palmolive Pure + Clear is available in Spring Fresh and Sparkling Fresh scents. You can expect to pay around $3 for a 20 ounce bottle. This is a bit more expensive than other versions of Palmolive detergent, but it’s worth the cost. Be on the lookout for this green product, and many others, in the cleaning aisle of your favorite grocery and department stores. For more information, visit Palmolive’s website.
