The “food grade paints” also come in aromatherapy scents such as fresh lemons, vanilla, orange and cloves, and exotica. The Anna Sova line of eco friendly paints is clearly the epitome of innovation. Natura
Benjamin Moore, a respected and recognizable name in the paint industry, now carries a line of eco friendly paint named Natura. These brand name eco-friendly paints contain zero VOCs, this means that the paint is free of volatile compounds. The Benjamin Moore website claims “Testing shows that Natura interior waterbourne paint emits lower total volatile compounds than any other national zero-VOX product. With zero VOC’s in both the base and the colorants, Natura can be tinted to match any color”. Since this line of Benjamin Moore paint is still in its beginning stages, for that reason it is only available for purchase in the states of California, Oregon, Washington and Texas. However, the Natura eco friendly paints will be available nationwide in spring of 09.
Real Milk Paint
The Real Milk Paint provides paint in a powdered form that keeps for a minimum of two weeks after being combined with water. Milk paint has been used for hundreds of years, but with the new and improved powdered formula the Real Milk Paint Company provides paint of the utmost quality while still being an eco friendly paint. The key ingredient in this form of milk paint surprisingly is limes. When lime is used in this specific formula it sucks up most of the carbon dioxide floating around in the air, providing you with purified air inside your home. Due to the consistency of the roller marks and paint brush strokes will remain on the surface that is being covered by this eco-friendly paint, but when dried the finished product is a rustic, antique finish.
