Annie and Jim Kaskade created the GreenEdge Kids shop in an effort to collect the best and largest selection of organic eco-clothing for kids. GreenEdge Kids is broken down into shopping type categories that include: Bamboo, Hemp, Organic Cotton, Soy, Tencel, Wild Silk and Wool. Each category has both boy's and girl's eco-fashions. Taking a look at the various benefits of each eco and organic fabric: Bamboo as an eco-fabric provides a drape to the design and is a wrinkle free, low shrinkage material. Hemp fabric offers strength and durability four times that of cotton and offers the wearer protection from UV light. Organic Cotton is softer to the skin and allows breath-ability that many fabrics do not. Soy fabrics also offer light reflection and is resistant to bacteria and biodegradable. Tencel is a man made fiber gleaned from wood pulp and offers the wearer breath-ability , moisture absorption and is wrinkle resistant. Wild Silk is lightweight and drapes the body in a skimming fashion. Wool offers moisture control and body temperature regulation.
The girl's collection offers everything from dresses, pants, pajamas and underwear. The most popular dresses that are carried by GreenEdge Kids are the Black Lace Dress (seen here) for the holidays made from recycled lace, soy and organic cotton and the SK Teal/Black Reversible Dress that is made from organic cotton and low impact dyes.
