The Paris Motor Show would never be complete if it just ended up being a “Save our Environment” seminar, would it? It does have its share of glamour. That’s where the Lamborghini’s and Ferrari’s come into play, don’t they? Talk about power with low-emission tech for a change and that is indeed a change. We have seen the serious luxury saloons like the 2009 BMW 7 Series and we have seen the energy efficient MPVs like GM’s Orlando Show Car. It is now time to see something else:
Lamborghini “No name but just a statement” Car
Quirky, isn’t it? Absolutely no Information on what the company is going to show us at the Paris Motor Show except that The Italian Sports car manufacturer made a statement that goes something like “ It’s a new world”. Oh, well, it sure is and it is indeed a new way of introducing a car at the show, don’t you think? Also, the image you see here is the only one available at this point of time. Probably, I could update this to the actual one the moment I grab my hands on it.
I couldn’t make out much from the picture while it was supposed to have told me something about at least a 1000 parts on the car? The car does looks shiny, with a carbon fiber rear diffuser, an amazing looking, chrome plated rear bumper and a grill. It also sports stylish looking tail-pipes for exhaust. Would it come as a challenge to the Bugatti and The Aston Martins?
Well, we’ll have to wait and see…
Mercedes Benz S 400 Blue Hybrid
I love it when the very best in the Automotive Industry show up with their wares and lock horns. It only brings in the much acclaimed Adam Smith’s Invisible hand to get this auto business kicking up dust. Mercedes - Benz is about to unveil its hybrid car, the S400 Blue Hybrid, which uses the Mercedes 3.5 L, V-6 gas engine with another 20kW electric motor attacked to it. It will also be one of the very first automobile hybrids running on Lithium-Ion batteries.
The above mentioned combination of a gas engine and the 20 KW motor make for a deadly combination and manage to deliver a mileage of about 12-14 kmpl, which officially makes it very affordable luxury saloon and would give its competition a run ofr all the fuel money in the world. Diesel Hybrids are expected to be released by the company very soon.
