Go With Reliable Sellers

It’s gift shopping time, and it’s time to figure out where you can score the best deals. So, where is the best place to buy a TV? Well, that’s easy. It’s where the deals are.

While you may want to hear about just a single place to purchase a TV, there is no one store or online retailer that is better than another, except maybe when it comes to reliability. Especially when it comes to online retailers, you should always read the reviews about the sellers before buying anything from a website.

You need to see what their return policy is and how reliable they are on delivering what they promise. The last thing that you want to do is get scammed or have your credit card stolen. So, do your research before purchasing anything. There are, however, some well-known sites that do provide reliable service, including Amazon.com, Buy.com and TigerDirect.com. You can even score some deals from eBay.com, but you should check the seller rating first.

Buying Online

So, how do you narrow down where to purchase a TV? Well, you need to look for the deals and consider things like shipping costs and taxes. For example, if your local retail store is offering a TV for $800, you may find one online for $700. The one online may sound like the better deal, but you need to check the shipping costs. If it’s going to cost you $150 to ship it to your house, you’d do better buying it locally.

But, don’t let shipping costs stop you from buying online. You can often find websites that offer flat shipping rates, special shipping rates or even free shipping. This is especially true around the holidays when they want you to buy as much as possible. So, do your homework.

Shopping at Your Local Retailer

Also, subscribe to the emails of your local retail stores. You’ll get the updates as to when items go on sale. For example, Best Buy will often have one or two day only sales on certain items. But, you need to get there as soon as possible since they usually sell out of these items.

Another way to get deals from your local retail store is by shopping online. They’ll run some Internet-only deals that are sometimes better than the in-store deals. Plus, you don’t need to worry about shipping costs with these items. Simply have them ship the items to your local store, and pick them up. It will save you money.

There’s also another reason to consider shopping online. You’ll only pay the taxes for your area. This could be an advantage for some people. If the store is located in an area with 9 percent taxes, but your county or parish only has a 4 percent tax rate, you’ll pay the 4 percent. This is just another way to save money.

The overall thing to consider when looking for the best place to buy a TV is to shop around. It may be tedious and time-consuming, but you’ll save money in the long run.
