What Makes an Excellent Teacher?

Some teachers are good at what they do and some teachers have a natural calling to be educators. Everybody has the one teacher that made an everlasting impact in their life that you will never forget. Wouldn’t we love if all of the teachers our children encounter would be that extraordinary one that reaches them? A lot of information taken from other parents, teachers from their students and principals, this list can defiantly help identify good qualities in an educator. So what really makes an excellent special education teacher?

Loving the work that you do

When a teacher loves what they do it shows, you can tell that it is truly a calling for them, you just can’t imagine them doing a different type of work. If you have a passion for what you do for a living it will always shine through.

Endurance

Knowing that small strides in education are just as rewarding as leaps and bounds. The patience to stick by a child’s side, when it takes some extra effort on your part, is what sets teachers apart making some more qualified to work with a special needs children.

First impressions are everything

From the time a student walks into the classroom they should feel welcome, the fostering surroundings that an educator provides for their students is really vital. They are with you for the better portion of the year and should feel a welcoming atmosphere.

Can you identify with your students and do you know how to motivate them?

Having more than the typical tools to deliver an education is important and knowing how to reach a child and being creative using varies methods of teaching to reach the students is so significant.

Take them to the next level

Taking a student’s education to the next level of learning, understanding where they are and nurturing them so they can excel is important for students. Helping them every step of the way by really giving yourself to them is crucial.

Being committed to your profession

Always continue to grow with your students and devoting your time with them to them. When a student feels that they can ask any question comfortably and feel secure that you will help is a defining quality of quality educator. You are there for not only the students, but the parents as well. Prospering with a challenge and helping not only the student, but the parent always is so important because when the parents trust you the child will then build on that trusting relationship.

Never giving up on a student

Feeling that even the most challenging student is just as important as the one that everything seems to come easy for is important in students feeling that you are not giving up on them. They all need you to deliver an education to them and some students struggle more than others, so being fair and equally giving your time to each student individually no matter what their level of learning is can prove beneficial for students needing support.

Always being positive and encouraging with everybody

If everybody feels that they will have a great year, then chances are they will. Never underestimate the power of positive thinking. It radiates to everyone around you.

yes i agree.all those qualities written above are true because children with special needs really deserve to be treated well for they are also like us who have feelings.
