If you're looking for information to teach students, educators and parents about different disabilities, this article provides one stop shopping.

Literature on Disabilities

"Kids Source" online is a wonderful site for parents, educators and children to learn where to find the resources to help explain different disabilities.

The students can check out the books listed on kids source to help children with disabilities connect with characters in books that have the same special needs and to give them resources to learn tools to help them in the school setting.

It is also a great source for teaching tools in the inclusion classroom helping to educate the other students on an inclusion students' particular disability.

What the Site Looks Like

The books on the site are listed in order of the disability. Some of the listings are ADHD, Blindness, and Down Syndrome .

It also groups books according to grade levels and age. Some of the books suggested are fiction and some non-fiction

There is an online link at the end of the article where you can find many other resources for this important issue.

Children with Disabilities

With more and more students with disabilities being included in the classroom, there is a pressing need for a site like this to educate people about these disabilities.

One of the problems that I see in our colleges is they are not educating the teaching students about different disabilities. The students I've spoken to have said that unless they are in a special needs degree program they might have one overall class on this subject.

Our specialists such as the music teachers, the art teachers and the gym teachers also have a hard time knowing what to look for in our students with special needs. This site www.kidsource.com can be a great help to address all these problems. There are also many other links on this site that you can go to for help.

I hope anyone involved with children and students with disabilities will take advantage of this very informative site.
