Writing the best dissertation for your MBA program may be a challenge, especially if you are not well versed in the art of writing. Fortunately, as with any writing project, or project for that matter, it is important that you first know your audience. And by audience, I mean the executive MBA dissertation board that will be reviewing your MBA dissertation. It is important that you get to know exactly what they are looking for before you ever begin looking for a topic to research and development. The reason this is important because you do not want to exhaust countless hours–and trust me you will spend a lot of hours researching, writing and editing your MBA dissertation–on the wrong focus or scope for your MBA dissertation.
Faculty Assistance Is Key! - During your MBA studies you may be assigned to a supervisor faculty or a faculty member who specializes in your target research area for your MBA dissertation. This person will become your lifeline as you prepare and write your MBA dissertation. Your assigned supervisor faculty, if you will, is the key to the success of your MBA dissertation because they are already knowledgeable about your topic of choice, the university and departmental policies and guidelines for MBA dissertation writing and how to effectively communicate your thoughts to your readers. Do not wait until the last minute to use their services!

Select a Researchable Topic – When you begin your research for a topic, you may want to write about a topic that you are familiar with or that you feel comfortable writing about. The only problem with selection method is that you might select a topic that does not have a vast amount of available research. Therefore, when you select a topic, it should have enough sustainable research for you to not only solidify your topic or concept but it should actually develop the idea to meet the research requirements for your MBA dissertation. Remember be realistic and make sure your topic applies to your studies.
Understand Effective Research Translation – There are two primary styles of MBA dissertation writing, quantitative and qualitative and you should be very aware of which style you are using before starting. Quantitative MBA dissertation writing involves a thorough investigation and analysis of various properties, variables and numerical relationships and discussing how they relate. You must be able to effectively use mathematical models, hypothesis and measure the fundamental connection between variables. On the other hand, qualitative research gathers information for an in-depth depiction of how human behavior works and how it relates to the rationale of the behavior.
Writing your MBA dissertation can be challenging! But if you use your resources, such as your appointed faculty member, write about a viable and researchable topic and understand your research method you will be well on your way to crafting the best MBA dissertation.
