unilang The online Hindi course through Unilang consists of ten lessons. The full course is designed to give the language learner a basic understanding of Hindi. Each lesson is written in Devanagari, which is the Indian script used to write in Hindi. Most written words in lessons three through ten are in Hindi and are accompanied by the English word translation.

The first lesson covers an introduction to Devanagari. When the learner moves through this lesson, they will get a better understanding of the script which will help in reading and communicating in Hindi. The Devanagari script is in essence a simplistic one as the language reads as it is written. Being able to sound out the look of the letter and have it mean what the sound is can speed the new learner of Hindi into faster comprehension of the language.

The second lesson in the Hindi course covers the linguistic information. In this section, there is the brief introduction to the history of Hindi as a descendant language of Sanskrit. A full example text of what Hindi looks like is given, so you can get a better idea as to what an article written in Devanagari will look like. You'll also learn the names of various other main languages spoken in India, such as Punjabi and Tamil.

The example text in this Hindi course looks as follows: माइक्रोसॉफ़्ट की आड़ में वायरस इंटरनेट का उपयोग करने वाले लोगों को एक नए तरह के कंप्यूटर वायरस के ख़तरे के बारे में आगाह किया गया है. कुल 69 देशों में पहुँच चुका वायरस माइक्रोसॉफ़्ट के संदेश के रूप में कंप्यूटरों तक पहुँचता है.
