pumpkin – Begin by holding the left hand in front of the chest with the wrist bent and the palm facing the body. Form the number 8 in ASL with the right hand. Tap the right middle finger and thumb onto the top of the left wrist twice.
salad – Hold the hands in front of the chest with the palms facing the body. Move the hands toward the chest while closing the fingers three times. The sign for salad resembles the tossing of lettuce in a bowl.
soup – Hold the left hand in front of the body at chest level in the shape of a bowl with the palm facing up. Shape the right hand with the index and middle fingers held straight, the thumb pointed out, and the ring and pinky fingers folded down onto the palm. Dip the right index and middle fingers into the left hand twice. The sign for soup resembles dipping a spoon into a bowl of soup.
turkey – Form the letter Q of the sign language alphabet with the right hand. Touch the right hand to the chin with the tips of the index finger and thumb pointing down. Swing the right hand forward and back twice in imitation of a turkey waddle.
