Based on my own experience, the best way to learn a language as your second language is to start learning sentences and worry about the grammar latter on. This can be done by hiring a tutor and learning the language online. Read this article to learn more about the different online options.

This is not a conventional method of learning a new language, but it can be a fun way. Today, I can say that I can also speak the German language, thanks to the various sites that helped me to achieve my goal. I have learned it without a teacher, using a book and an Internet site, which suggested the readers learn German sentences. Yes, I have learned German using a book which forced me just to remember given sentences without worrying too much about the grammar or even the learned words.

“Der Tee ist gut” – this is the first sentence I learned in German which by the way means “The tea is good” and after this my first sentence I learned a lot of other sentences. And moreover, with this method of learning sentences in German I have learned not only a lot of words but also I have learned German grammar perfectly.

To be honest, German grammar is more difficult when compared with English grammar. Learning the grammar of any language is a real challenge, especially when it comes to German. There many different rules which one has to follow. So it is obvious that one cannot speak German without making mistakes. But learning German words is not difficult because they are pretty similar to the words used in English. The only difference between English and German words is in their pronunciation.

www.dict.cc, german-grammar.de
This is a HUGE dictionary website (not limited to german) that holds almost 1 million english-german-english translations with more to come, and with many may sound files to go with the words (there is an orange bar by the word if there is a sound for it. if not, the computer voice will kick in). the words are even voted on which one is mostly used, meaning, since the site has so many words, your going to get more than one result for the word you search for. people will vote on which word is most commonly used (the higher the number = used more). it even gives numerous sentence examples for the word you search (which i often use to check if my word would make sense in a sentence) making it a very ideal place to learn german.
german-grammar.de teaches you the grammar of german, obviously. it teaches about the 4 cases (nominative, genative, accusative, dative), sentence structure, conjugation, vocabulary, and so forth.
