As a teacher I am sure there have been many times when you were stuck with finding and/or compiling worksheets or perhaps even coming up with lesson plans. So maybe you decide to search “worksheets” online and you come up with a plethora of free and pay for worksheet/lesson plan sites. Which do you choose and which are even worth it?
One site which gives the option of being free or paying for a membership is EdHelper.com. I started using this site a few years back, mainly opting for the free worksheets and plans available. I was pleasantly surprised at all the site had to offer and I was not paying a cent. The worksheets had included but were not limited to math and reading as well as some other fun stuff such as bulletin board material. With the vast amount of material which was available to me I was so happy with what I was getting for free that I chose to become a member.
The membership fee is $20 a year and gives you access to an amazing variety of material for grades Pre-K to 12. I have been a paid member for a year now and still have yet to explore the site fully. The site provides full units of curriculum as well as lesson plans. The site is set up so that you can explore by grade, subject matter, monthly units, weekly units, and even daily themes.
EdHelper covers everything from reading to math to social studies to a variety of languages. This works not only as a great site for full time teachers but also for substitutes. If you get called to cover a class and do not have a lesson set up, just shoot over to EdHelper and choose what you want to do. They have different literature units which not only come with a short story but also with several worksheets including writing prompts and vocabulary quizzes. You would be set for the day!
For younger students they have basic alphabet, math, shapes, handwriting, and coloring storybooks. An older student may fare better with the test prep material or one of the many high school subjects covered such as geometry, algebra, earth science, or biology. I recommend this site to any full time teacher, substitute teacher, and homeschooler out there. For a small membership fee you are provided with such a large amount of material, that you do not know where to start first!
