I was first introduced to FunBrain.com by my niece. She was in 4th grade at the time and her teacher had instructed them to play on this website each night for homework. I was curious so I checked it out. It really is a wonderful educational resource and has many games that will reinforce concepts.

FunBrain.com offers kids a way to practice their math and language arts skills that is fun and exciting. This is done by using games to get the kids to learn. They don't even realize that what they are doing is homework.

I am all for using the Internet to help further children's education. Today's generation has grown up with technology so they learn better when they can experience things hands on. They also seem to pick up on concepts by seeing them in action. FunBrain provides kids with this and they do it in a safe environment.

You can choose what you want to do by clicking on a category such as Math or Reading or you can choose by clicking on a grade level. If you click on a category it will ask you what grade you are in before you play anyway. My daughter's favorite is the Mathcar Racing. Instead of Nascar it's Mathcar. You can pick Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, or Division from there. You can even pick all if you are looking for a challenge.

Funbrain also has a section for teachers to utilize. They can set you up with My Grade Book which will keep track of your student's grades for you without you ever having to use a piece of paper and a pen. It can help you calculate your students grades, print you out a report on the classes progress, or print you out a report on each individual student for parent teacher confrences. It also keeps track of attendance. If one of your students is absent you can email their parents with the click of a button.

FunBrain also has a curriculum guide to help teachers discover which games go with each of their lesson plans. To learn about more teacher's benefits at FunBrain click on the teacher's lounge.

There is a section called Parents's Place. It has games parents can download from Funbrain right on to their computer. They also offer game suggestions and a list of links that Parents may find helpful in the education of their child.

Overall, I find this website to have only positive benefits for all involved: children, teachers, and parents. It is a great way to bring everyone together to ensure the students are getting the best education possible.
