You will need to make two ID's. One for your child and one for yourself. These ID's should contain photos for optimal use. For both of these ID's you will need to either buy business card sheets for your printer that match your homeschooling theme, or download some from the Internet.
For Your Child:
- Place your child's name across the top of the card outline on your computer.
- Place the year in the top right hand corner. It should state the school year, for example 2008-2009.
- Get a current picture of your child. Make sure it is a close up of their face. Scan it in to your computer and upload it to the card outline.
- Make sure the ID card contains your child's address on the right hand side. A phone number is not necessary.
- Give your student an ID number and add it along with the school name across the bottom. The ID number could be your child's Birthday or Social Security Number.
- Print out the card on your printer.
- Have your child sign their name on the back of the card.
- Laminate the card and cut around the edges so it looks official.
For You:
- Place your name across the top of the card outline on your computer.
- Place the school year date in the top right hand corner. This will look the same as your child's.
- Add a current picture of yourself. Make sure it is a head shot like you would see in a passport. If you don't have one go to a store like CVS or Walgreens and order some passport photo's. They cost around $8.
- Next to your picture add your address, but omit the phone number.
- Give yourself an educator number. You can use your Birthday or Social Security Number. Make sure you put the words educator number before write out the number.
- Print the card out.
- Sign your name on the back of the card.
- Laminate the card and cut it out so that it looks official.
Optional Step:
Create and add a school logo.
