Geography ABC's Intro

The Geography ABC’s series is a unique and fun way to supplement your world geography curriculum. This series offers thirty-two countries and two different lesson plans. Each country has the alphabet listed with a fact that pertains to just that country. Geography ABC’s can easily be adapted to any grade level and incorporated into any standing curriculum. A complete list of countries, lesson plans, and links to the Geography ABC's series is at the bottom of the article.

Italy ABC's

Italy

Buon giorno! Welcome!

A is for the architecture of the ancient Romans, including the Pantheon, the Forum, and the baths at Herculaneum.

B is for the bronze pig near the Boboli Gardens that was made in the 1500s.

C is for the Castel dell’ Ovo (Egg Castle) built in the Middle Ages.

D is for da Vinci, Leonardo da Vinci is one of the three greatest artist of all times, the other two are also from Italy, Michelangelo, and Raphael.

E is for Etna, Europe’s largest active volcano.

F is for flag, which is actually older than Italy and dates back to Napoleon Bonaparte

G is for the Greek theater, one of the largest of ancient times.

H is for Herculaneum which was destroyed with Pompeii by the volcano, Mt. Vesuvius.

I is for Italian ice cream.

J is for jewelry, Italian jewelry is considered some of the finest crafted in the world.

K is for kings that ruled before Rome invaded.

L is for the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

M is for mountains, the Alps, the tallest mountains in Europe are at the top of Italy while the Apennines, stretch along the entire length of the country.

N is for Naples, the home of the worlds best pizza.

O is for olives are grown and a important part of Italian cooking.

P is for the Palazzo Venezia.

Q is for quick quiz, Italy is where pizza was first made?

R is for the Rome, is the capital city, nicknamed ‘The Eternal City.’

S is for Sistine Chapel where Michelangelo painted the ceiling.

T is for trulli, old cone-shaped peasant houses.

U is for the Uffizi Museum

V is for the Vatican, the home of the Pope.

W is for white marble. Used in many sculptures.

X marks the spot.

Z is for zabaglione, a hot dessert made from whipped eggs and wine

Amen to the 14 year old. Im 13 and doing a class project on Italy and its due in 1 day and i know nothing because nun of thier stuff makes since. (Witch they needd to fix alot of thing's) (Josie)

This is probably the WORST ABC's of italy I've ever read , and im 14. First , You dont even have the letter Y. Second, Most of the things listed are downright idiotic "X marks the spot" "Q , quick quiz..." etc. And last, You must know nothing of italy because not even I (a 14 year old) who hasn't been to italy and knew nothing about its culture until a week ago knows more than whoever wrote this.
