Sorting foods into food groups is done at this online game called make a balanced plate:

This comes from Topmarks, in the UK, which is free interactive whiteboard resources in the area of science, math, geography, art, music, literacy, biology, history and religious studies. The website is: http://www.topmarks.co.uk/Interactive.aspx?cat=62

It is located on Interactive Whiteboard Resources for primary grades at:

3. Using the Multimedia and Online Resources

Use the clock as a timer to time science experiments. The interactive thermometers help students to record temperature changes. They can be used to read and record temperature on the thermometer, and convert temperatures between Celcius and Farenheit. They move easily up and down. In the educator resources folder, there are prepared science lessons using these thermometers.

There are short videos in the educator resources pages which are captivating to students. The single-celled amoeba video moves in only a few seconds, yet shows what a student would see under a microscope. There is a circulation interactive presentation where a student can place the heart and circulatory system together in a body to help pump blood. It is like the board game, Operation. They are simple and effective to explain cells, systems and organisms.

At the National Grid for Learning, in the UK, there are excellent resources that have presentations using animations, diagrams, sounds and interactive questions made specifically for interactive whiteboards. In science lessons on the theme of energy, radiation and the universe, downloadable activities can be found at:

If you would like premade 3 minute lessons followed up by optional questions that check for comprehension, an excellent site is:

http://www.brainpop.com

The site requires a license to use. In the science section there are 13 sections to choose lessons from such as: cellular life and genetics, earth system, energy, matter and chemistry, diversity of life and our fragile environment. There are quizzes, do-it-yourself experiments, comics, videos and lessons for grades 3-12 that follow state curriculum standards.

BrainPOP Educators, a teachers blog for educators supports their teacher community online with free lesson plans, video tutorials, shared best practices, professional development and presentation tools. The blog is found at:

Most of the diagrams, videos and multimedia presentations in science are found in online resources. Teachers and students will find science activities to be easy to demonstrate and perform without long preparations. Science is made fun using the SMARTboard technology
