New York Colleges
There are many prominent universities in New York for international students. It goes without saying that New York City is the epicenter of cultural diversity. Columbia University
Columbia University generally finds itself in the top ten of major rankings. However, its strongest undergraduate programs are in the field of creative writing, business, and the sciences. International students are required to supply the university with original records from their respective country, along with an English translation. In addition, a transcript detailing grades or marks received and classes attempted is mandatory for prospective admission. Since English may not be the first language in many foreign countries, international applicants are required to take the TOEFL exam, which stands for “Test of English as a Foreign Language.” Like all applicants, the international student will submit a personal statement along with references to be considered for admission.

Marymount Manhattan College
Marymount Manhattan College is a close-knit community that recruits students from the United States and foreign countries. Despite the relatively small size of the school, international students from thirty-six different nations worldwide are enrolled at the university. International admission requirements consist of transcripts to report to the World Education Services, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), two letters of recommendation from academic sources, and a personal statement ranging from 250-500 words. The international applicant must fill out the I-20 application and provide a proof of immunization. Ultimately, Marymount Manhattan college is a school for liberal arts majors. As such, its strengths are in the creative writing and fine arts, although business management programs and a variety of other programs are offered.
