So you have successfully laid out your first Windows Movie Maker Project and you are about to publish your movie. But wait, upon clicking on the Publish Movie option in WMM you noticed that there is no option to save your project in a format supported by a DVD player. Here's a simple suggestion.
When you click on the "Publish Movie" button in WMM's File Menu, you can see that there are 4 options for publishing your movie - this computer, recordable CD, e-mail and to a tape in your DV camera. But what if you want to be able to play it back on a standard TV without having to go through the hassle of hooking up your camera and playing it off the DV tape? You're in luck, because you can make this possible in some simple steps.
What, another software to purchase and install? Well, that's the only way you can play a WMM-produced movie on a regular TV. Believe me, the price you have to pay for this software is worth the output that you can create. Whether you are capturing videos of special moments in your life or creating a slideshow of photos you've taken with your digital camera, nothing beats the pleasure of watching them on a regular TV screen, be it your plasma, LCD or the old traditional tube.
So now, you've installed a DVD Movie Creation Software. What's next? You're software probably has a manual. It would not hurt a bit if you will devote a few hours reading the manual, assimilating everything that you can possibly assimilate.
Then when you think you've learnt enough, go pop in a formatted blank DVD in your PC's DVD Writer. Then the rest is up to you. Fire up your DVD Creation Software and just follow the wizard for burning a DVD movie onto a CD in a format supported by your DVD player. The software should have the capability to output a DVD that plays automatically and is read by a Media Player software as soon as you pop-in the CD.
And that's it. Wait until the software does its thing and finished burning your Windows Movie Maker production onto the DVD disc. Once finished, the software will eject the finished DVD and will prompt you if you still want to burn another DVD.
Like we said before, another way by which you can play your Windows Movie Maker produced movie is to record it in your DV Camera's tape. Then you just connect your DV camera to your TV and push on your camera's play button.
