Makeover

Hotmail has gone under some visual changes quite frequently in recent years. Recent changes have given it a cleaner look in order for it to load faster and do the things we need to do quicker. As a result, it is a really good idea to take advantage of what Hotmail has to offer if you have not yet done so. You get 5 GB of space, so you’ll never have to worry about your inbox’s volume. It also has a handy junk filter and phishing protector.

First Step

Your Windows Live ID is what you’ll use to sign into Hotmail. If you don’t have one, you can get one at windowslive.com. This sign-in will always be an e-mail address, whether it’s an @hotmail.com account, @live.com account, or any other e-mail address you have registered with Windows Live. Your password will be what you registered with Windows Live. Enter the necessary data in these two fields. If you wish, you can choose your browser to store this information every time you access Hotmail. Check or uncheck the appropriate checkboxes below.

Click Sign In to continue.

Main Menu

You’ll notice the sidebar on the left is what you’ll want to click on in order to access your e-mail. You’ll also see different news postings appropriate to your region. If you want to change your settings, you’ll find them on the right part of the page right under your username. Should you need help, click the icon that looks like a question mark.

From this, you should be all set! Enjoy the many features that Hotmail has to offer. Remember,

your Windows Live ID can also sign you into many different components of Windows Live, including the likes of: OneCare, Spaces, Messenger, Live Mail, SkyDrive, and others. On top of that, for your own security, be sure to log out before closing your browser window or moving on to another website.
