Easy Steps to Enable and Use Windows 7 God Mode

The God Mode trick lets you access all key OS settings within one folder. There are plenty of special strings that provide direct access to power settings, PC performance settings, Firewall, and Programs and Features.

    “God Mode” is usually associated with video games. Gamers enable this cheat to make their characters invincible. Windows 7 also has a certain hidden “GodMode” tweak that although doesn’t make your operating system immune to virus or Trojans, it provides access to all control panels of of the OS within a single folder.

    The Win 7 God Mode trick is nothing but a nifty shortcut used by developers. There is not one but several god mode “codes” that allow a centralized access to all settings and present them to the user in an organized way. One can also enable this tweak in Vista, but only in the 32-bit version. Here’s a step-by-step guide, complete with screenshots:

    How to Activate God Mode?

    1. On your desktop, right-click and select New > Folder to create a folder:

    2. Right-click the new folder and select Rename:

    3. Copy and paste this code onto your new folder GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

    4. Press Enter. Bingo! Your Win 7 God Mode folder is ready. The folder icon changes to the Control Panel icon. You can now access all control panel settings within this folder.

    5. It is not necessary to include the name “God Mode” in the code. The special string is important, although you will have to include some name to activate this tweak. You can use any word(s) you like as long as they do not contain any restricted characters.

    6. Double-click the folder to access all settings. You will find everything, from system, sound, internet settings to programs and features, region and languages and other configuration tools. Double click any of the setting and select the appropriate option to change the settings.

    More Tweaks

    The above tweak was just one the many god mode tricks used by developers. All you have to do is create a new folder on your desktop and repeat the steps. But make sure you include some text and a full stop before entering the special string. Here’s a list of some useful Windows 7 tweaks that may allow easy access to certain important settings:

    • For a separate Icons and Notifications folder, enter {05d7b0f4-2121-4eff-bf6b-ed3f69b894d9}
    • To Access Programs and Features within a folder, enter {15eae92e-f17a-4431-9f28-805e482dafd4}
    • (For programmers) To access all COM libraries and NET Frameworks, enter {1D2680C9-0E2A-469d-B787-065558BC7D43}
    • Want a separate Firewall and Security folder? Enter this special string {4026492F-2F69-46B8-B9BF-5654FC07E423}
    • To check PC performance, create a new folder and enter this special string {78F3955E-3B90-4184-BD14-5397C15F1EFC}
    • Access Power Settings by creating a new folder and renaming it to Power Settings.{025A5937-A6BE-4686-A844-36FE4BEC8B6D} (you can use any other name instead of “Power Settings”

    When you press Enter after typing in the name and the special string, you will notice the folder icon changes to a different icon. The folders really look great, and allow you to organize your daily PC tasks quite efficiently.
