Ever wonder if your deleted items still exists? Do you want to recover deleted files as easy as 1-2-3? On this review, we will be discussing SUPERFileRecover that you can use to view what are the deleted files and if they can still be recovered.

Overview

SUPERFileRecover is a program that will scan your local and removable drives (USB, Flash Drive, Floppy drives, and any external drives) for deleted files and folders. The program is quite easy to use but does it work to recover or find the already deleted files? Read on to find out.

System Requirements and Installation
Rating Good

SUPERFileRecover will work only with Windows XP, 2000, ME, 98SE/98. It supports NTFS, FAT32/16/12 file systems and you can try to recover files deleted from your camera cards (memory card), USB, Flash, Floppy and many other removable drives and of course, from your local hard-drive. Installing SUPERFileRecover is a straight-forward and there is setup wizard that will guide you on your first scan for deleted files. It’ll be great though if the program will work with newer operating system e.g. Vista and Windows 7.

Options and Performance
Rating Excellent

The program allows you to scan for all deleted files from any location in your hard-drive or removable drives and you have the option Scan Result for Deleted Itemsto reduce the scan by entering the keyword. You also have the option to include or exclude the deleted system files, long filenames or temporary internet files. There is a quick preview and scan result window so you can decide if you are going to recover the correct file. However, the format of the recovered files while you are previewing and/or after recovery is not the same format when you first deleted it. After the scan for deleted items, a status whether the file can be recovered or not: likely and unlikely.

On my test system where I’ve deleted many files before and I’ve run CCleaner program to get rid of deleted files (using secure deletion method and wiping of free disk space), I found out that SUPERFileRecover can still view and even recover many of the files that I’ve deleted using CCleaner (see image at the left). I’ve tried to recover some and it succeeded without glitch. Imagine, if someone I do not know well or even spyware can view those private files? I’m glad I tried SUPERFileRecover.

The program let you view the deleted files that it can try to recover several ways: view deleted files per file extension, by folder, size, and last access or restore chance.

At $29.95, SUPERFileRecover is worth to keep! A fully functional trial version is available and the only limitation is you can only recover files that are 64K below in size. Lifetime subscription is available by adding $9.95 one-time fee instead of $9.95 per year to renew.

Conclusion

SUPERFileRecover is a very useful program to determine if your deleted files continue to exist (these can be viewed by prying eyes!) and if you want them back, recover them. Highly recommended!
