Bill Gates will send you a buck for each email you forward. Disabling SSID broadcasting can boost the security of a wireless network.

What do these things have in common? Yup, that's right, they're all completely untrue. The last one on the list may come as a surprise to some people but, yup, it's as much of a myth as the others. Disabling SSID broadcasting will do absolutely jack to improve the security of your wireless network - in fact, it may compromise it.
