Lillipot Review: Flatten and Add Quick Start to Your QuickTime Movies

You can download Lillipot at the developer's website and use it for free (although donations are welcome). After download it will mount a file on your Desktop. When you click on it to open it, it will prompt you to accept the terms and download Lillipot onto your computer. After you do so the file will be on your Desktop for you to do with what you like.

Lillipot does what it says and not much more. There is a simple window that you drag and drop QuickTime movies into for flattening and adding quick start. Lillipot can also convert mp4, m4v, aif, wave, mp3 and m4a files to quick start QuickTime movies, according to the website.

Some of the menus are in French, but is really shouldn't be that much of a problem since it is so simple it is pretty intuitive what each button does (and French and English aren't that different). For example, in Lillipot Action is Start and so on.

I tried this software out with a .mov file and an .mp4 and they both worked perfectly well. The time it took to convert them was very short (they were small files) and they loaded instantly in QuickTime when I launched them with no problems.

The only issue I have is Lillipot has a File menu and a Help menu (called Aide) but I couldn't access either of them. I'm not sure why.

If you are using both a PC and a Mac and do a lot of work with QuickTime, Lillipot will be useful for you. Or if you are a Mac user who puts videos on the web with QuickTime you'll also find it useful. Otherwise, don't bother.

Lillipot converts files to QuickTime and flattens them with no problems that I could see. It is easy to use and the interface is straightforward, even if some of it is in French. If you think this software would benefit you go ahead and give it a try!
