MySpace is one of the most popular social networks on the internet, and it has hit the iTunes App store. The iPhone MySpace application is completely free, but does it fulfill all of your MySpace needs?

Review

MySpace is one of the most popular social networking sites ever to grace the internet. Whether it pertains to musicians, film makers, comedians, or just common individuals, they all have their own use for it. It was not a suprise to find that a MySpace application was released with the launch of the iTunes App store.

The MySpace app has many of the same features that are found on the regular MySpace page. You are able to post comments, send messages, look at photos, and update your mood. All are done with ease and simple maneuvering around the site. The layout of the application is set up very well.  Your homepage consists of your profile, friend statuses, friend updates, comments, bulletins, and the search people option. Along the bottom of the screen you have your tabs for mail, friend requests, friends, and photos.

When a new message arrives in your mailbox a little red number will appear on top of the mail tab. The only issue with this is that the number doesn't actually go away until you read it on the MySpace site on your computer. Thus is one of the various minor problems that are found in the iPhone MySpace application.

You may notice that the application can crash from time to time. If you are on the Edge network, logging in seems to take a little while. There is also the inability to arrange your photos and friends such as your top friends and so on.

With those set aside, one of the coolest features on the new MySpace App is the ability to upload photos as you take them on your iPhone or iPod Touch. You are also given the option to upload from your photo library on your device.

Another cool feature is the Remember Me option. This allows you to be remembered on your MySpace so once you click the application icon, then you will be automatically logged in. This is a common feature with most log in sites, but it does become very convenient.

The new MySpace application is a great improvement over just trying to log in using Safari on your handheld device. It's much easier to navigate and options are quick and at your fingertips (literally).

If you are a frequent user of MySpace and don't mind the minor issues then you are going to enjoy this application. It's quick and to the point, while still allowing you to comment, post bulletins, and upload photos.

With the application being free, it doesn't hurt to try it out. For those checking out just your recent comments or messages, it will surely do the trick.  Besides the ease of integration of iPhone photos, it doesn't break new ground nor does it expand on your MySpace experience, but it will make it more of a convenience to have on the go.
