You're busy everyday. Pull that iPod Touch out of that pocket and unleash those gaming apps waiting to entertain you. Who needs a long attention span when some quick fun is just a finger flick away? Hit the casual button in your head already.
Casual Apps For Fun
Games are too complicated, too complex these days. Anybody who's had to use more than two buttons to make a character jump or perform a special move can see that. Does a game app on the iPod Touch have to go the same route? I say no. I also say that remembering complex commands and spending hours just to get through a maze isn't what an iPod Touch game should be about. It should be about a quick fix for fun, then back into oblivion it goes until the next time it's needed.
So here’s some examples of fun that doesn’t have to tax your finger too hard OR your mind too much.
Candy
It's sweet but no cavities to worry about. Can you match up the combinations and make your way through the many levels? Can you unlock the bonus games that are hidden? Can you use the bomb in a timely fashion? Collect the items you'll need? Can you stop salivating already?
Cooking Dash
Keeping customers happy while waiting in the ticket line might sound ideal, but the stress of serving all those diner guests just might get to you. At least you can create your own soundtracks from your music playlists in case you need an added jolt!
Being able to buy upgrades to improve the restaurant is both cool and realistic. But who needs the added stress - just trying to cross this New York street without being smacked by a bike messenger is enough of an accomplishment today.
Happy customers might be the aim of the various levels, but I think I'm getting hungry so the game is being saved while I go to that hot dog vendor and get me a snack.
Paper Toss: World Tour
Here we go - something that can hold my teeny weeny attention span. Not only does this app help to train your finger flicking skills - it teaches you about the world by showing you exotic locales that only need a trash can to complete their decor.
Tossing paper wads into trashcans not only improves your carbon footprint - since they're digital, not real - but the experience prepares you for the monotony that daily life serves up hot and fresh each day.
PapiJump
If the idea was any simpler, your cat would be playing this. Just tilt the iPod Touch to move Mr. Papi (if that's his real name...) from left to right as he strives to jump forever from one block to the next. It's like life, in that the accomplishment has no real purpose. But at least you can lose a few minutes of having to think by playing it.
