USB Power

That, unfortunately, can be true. In my opinion, the fault lies with the manufacturer of the product who did not consider all of the conditions under which the end user would use the device.

Some KVM switches do not have enough [USB] power to work with Apple aluminum keyboard. My IOGear KVM switch does not have enough power.
