You may be a casual viewer… watching home movies on your big screen digital combo TV/monitor, or at a movie theater watching film or the digital video that snuck in to take the place of film while you were looking in the other direction. Maybe you noticed less flickering and dust with more detailed content. In these cases you only need to be there to participate… not doing the setup or handling the remote. Pizza, drinks and other snacks might be what you touch most.
On a more active and personal level, you might take video clips with your cool cell phone
, and are so adept at using it that others are in awe. Or you’re still too intimidated by the manual and buttons to have pointed and shot your first video clip. Maybe you tried it once, and the video is still in the gadget and you don’t know how to get it out. Worse yet, you don’t want to admit you don’t know how it works, and fear anyone knowing your secret.
I’m from an older generation who started with a film camera for home video, advanced to an analog camcorder and VCR, and now use a digital camcorder and computer. My video editing toolbox went from a razor blade and Scotch tape to starting and stopping analog equipment, and it’s now done by manipulating pixels with computer-based video editing software.
